To the victor(s) go the spoils…

The IndyCar and Firestone Indy Lights gang are in Lost Wages tonight whooping it up at their end of season celebration at the Palms Casino Resort.

IndyCar made a point of inviting fans to watch the awards portion of the event live exclusively on http://www.indycar.com via streaming video. Log on at 11:37 p.m. (ET) Nov. 5.
And I made sure to spread the word!

So I was all prepared to watch the stream and take notes, live blog, the whole nine yards.
I booted up the site, clicked on the “watch live” link, got the swanky holding page and then this:

This version of the Conviva LivePass is not supported on your operating system

NEWSFLASH: A GREAT MANY MOTORSPORTS FANS ARE MAC USERS. IT’S 2000-FUCKING-8! THERE IS TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE THAT WORKS ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS. SEEK IT OUT!

Once again my “fan” experience is akin to a kick in the teeth.
Well, fuck you very much.

So there ya go. I’m sure they all looked dapper in their suits. I’m sure there were some funny moments. I’m sure they picked up trophies and cheques. And I’m sure there will be a handful pictures that don’t capture any of it, along with one or two of the most boring, generic quotes posted on IndyCar.com tomorrow. And now I’m too pissed off to even care anymore.

I hope I won’t be made to feel like a hypocrite next season, by supporting and lauding this series, when they consistently drop the ball on the most simple things.
